With relics dating back to the Bronze Age, this promontory, known as "squirrel point" in the Lule Sami language, has always been a prime location, surrounded by abundant fishing waters and wildlife-rich mountains.
Established in 1811, the Mannberg family pioneered fjell farming here, cultivating the fertile land and living in harmony with nature. With the transition to tourism in 1969, their legacy lives on as they now offer visitors a taste of authentic mountain life.
As the fifth generation of Mannbergs continues to build upon Årrenjarka's heritage, they invite you to explore this timeless landscape and create your own adventures in this picturesque corner of the world.
Kvikkjokk is located by a delta landscape and surrounded by the scenic mountains Vallevárre, Nammásj, and Sjnjierák. The delta area is formed by the Tarra River and the rapids of Gamájåhkå, which meet at the village. The area serves as a border zone to several of our classic national parks, and the surroundings around Kvikkjokk offer visitors a unique nature and culture experience.
There are opportunities for several beautiful day hikes, ranging from easy terrain to more challenging alpine areas. In the surroundings, there are large untouched areas and diverse natural landscapes such as high mountain terrain, low mountain terrain, ancient mountain forests, waterways, and delta landscapes.
We rent canoes and explore the delta as the autumn colors light up the landscape.
Sarek is a high alpine area with mountains reaching 2,000 meters in height and nearly 100 glaciers. In Ráhpavuobme / Rapadalen, you encounter a winding delta landscape where the large moose have their habitat. Hiking in Sarek is a bit more demanding as there are no cabins, trails, or boardwalks. Sarek National Park is part of the World Heritage Site Laponia.
